Meredith & Ryan : Uptown Charlotte, NC

Starting our week by sharing one of our latest wedding films! This one is extra special to us, because it is the first wedding we filmed in the lovely city of Charlotte, and also because Meredith and Ryan are that couple who you just love to be around! We had such an amazing time getting to know these two and witnessing, first hand, their very deep and meaningful love for one another. We knew that their wedding would be something incredibly special to capture!

The weekend started at Draught, one of Meredith and Ryan’s favorite hangout spots in Uptown Charlotte. Family and friends gathered to share sweet and entertaining stories and celebrate the evening together before the big day. We were particularly touched by the story of how this adorable couple met. Hearing it from the perspective of Meredith and Ryan’s best friends, their meeting was unexpected, yet occurred at the most perfect time in their lives!

The ceremony was held at Caldwell Presbyterian Church and was led by Meredith’s stepfather. We just loved his message about the meaning of marriage and family, and how Meredith and Ryan share a love that extends well beyond their relationship to bless their families and everyone they know!

The reception followed at the Mint Museum, surrounded by the glow of Uptown Charlotte’s spectacular skyscrapers. Meredith and Ryan introduced the evening with their stunning first dance, filling the room with an energy that lasted all night long. One of our favorite moments was when Meredith’s cheerleading partners from college tossed her in the air (designer gown and all)! Afterwards, Ryan and his groomsmen tried matching them with their own stunt, and while they could not quite pull off the grace and finesse of Meredith’s performance, it sure made for some hilarious memories!

It was also a pleasure meeting and working alongside an outstanding team of Charlotte wedding vendors. Many thanks to Julie at Old South Studios, Maura at Draught Charlotte, Ann at Caldwell Presbyterian, Chelsey at the Mint Museum, and R & R Pedicab Company for putting together such a fine event for this stunning couple!

Meredith and Ryan, thank you for the wonderful privilege of filming your beautiful day. May you enjoy countless years of everlasting love that continues to grow deeper every day! Congratulations!

Shannon & Danny : City Club at de Rosset

Shannon and Danny’s wedding was totally our cup of tea: a vintage-chic take on a sophisticated Southern soirée! We truly adored filming their day, not only for the amazing details and atmosphere but simply because Shannon and Danny are the sweetest pair! We loved hearing the romantic story of their courtship and eventual engagement (in Paris!). They are so smitten in love and put so much thought into their day, creating an experience that reflected both their personalities and story.

The wedding took place at the stately City Club at de Rosset in historic downtown Wilmington. It was our first time filming there and we cannot wait to go back! The ceremony was held outdoors against a beautiful backdrop of terraced gardens, a towering tree and crisp greenery. It was the perfect setting for Shannon and Danny’s elegant affair. Every detail was impressive, from the classy attire (floral bridesmaids robes and contrasting bridesmaid dresses, Shannon’s stunning vintage-inspired gown, top hats, bow ties and handmade flower girl dresses) to the unique decor (literary quotes in vintage frames, vibrant pink roses, signature cocktails, and deliciously ornate desserts, especially the lovely cake and New Orleans-style beignets), to the bridal party’s reception entrance down the City Club’s grand staircase, to Shannon and Danny’s whimsical first dance routine… friends and family sure got to celebrate in splendor and style! Everyone danced the night away and we felt like we were filming something right out of a Southern novel!

At the end of the night, we got a chance to film some intimate moments between Shannon and Danny underneath the tree where they were married, now all lit up and glowing in the moonlight. A moment of dreamy romance and something very special to capture! These two definitely have a love that will last for the ages. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and thank you for the wonderful experience of filming your day! We wish you a lifetime of love and wedded bliss!

Brittney & Walt : Watermark Marina

We love couples with inspiring love stories and Brittney and Walt have one of the sweetest! They met in college, and while getting to know each other, found out all the things they had in common and all the different ways they could have met before in life. Truly a couple with great chemistry and a deeply rooted love for one another!

You can never go wrong with a wedding taking place at the beautiful Watermark Marina and with a fun loving couple like this, the day was destined to be perfect. Walt was a hilarious groom, making Brittney laugh all day long and entertaining guests with his vibrant personality and romantic dance moves! And Brittney couldn’t be more sweet! The bond she shares with her family brought tears to our eyes. We knew when we were filming that we would highlight in the film all the wonderful things her father had to say during his toast. We also admire this couple’s strong ties to their friends and ECU, the college where they all met. It was such a joy to film everyone coming together and sharing their stories about Brittney and Walt. Everyone was so happy for them and so excited to be there to celebrate their special day!

We also had another chance to work with A Shindig Southern Event Planning at this wedding. We love Jessica! She really creates the best events for her couples. All of the details are gorgeous and it’s always so much fun to work with her!

Congratulations to Brittney and Walt! You were both a pleasure to get to know and be around. Thank you so much for giving us this honor of capturing your story. Wishing you a lifetime of love, laughter and good times together with your amazing family and friends!

Jessi & Sam : Airlie Gardens

The wedding of Jessi and Sam was out of this world GORGEOUS! The day, the location and especially the couple, all gorgeous. They could not have chosen a more perfect place to host their colorful wedding than on the lovely grounds of Airlie Gardens. It’s an enchanting location with historic Southern gardens, stunning views of the water, a charming pair of swans and a golden sun that dances through tall trees and swaying Spanish moss. The ceremony looked like something right out of a story book! And this couple’s love story is just as magical…

Jessi and Sam adore each other and their relationship left us in awe. Sam’s reaction to seeing Jessi walk down the aisle breaks the record for the most excited a groom has ever looked to marry the love of his life. He was beaming and she was glowing! Family and friends witnessed their heartwarming exchange of vows through laughter and tears. Hearing them read their personal words to each other was like experiencing a day in their relationship together. You could just feel the happiness and love that their future holds! During the kiss, the crowd cheered and the excitement everyone shared for Jessi and Sam was absolutely apparent. The cutest trio of flower girls escorted the happy couple down the aisle again to continue the celebration under the magnificent Airlie Oak!

We also love the sweet and hilarious story of how these two got together in college, shared by the maid of honor during her toast. It’s as if Jessi knew the moment she saw Sam that he would be her husband someday!

At the reception we had the honor of working with the fabulous band, GrooveTown, out of Raleigh, for the first time! They packed the dance floor the entire night with their energetic performance, and everyone had a blast partying with Jessi and Sam. It was truly an event to remember!

Many thanks to Jessica at A Shindig Southern Event Planning for introducing us to this lovely couple! We feel so blessed to have been a part of this day and for the opportunity to work alongside you and the fantastic team at Airlie, as well as the talents of Theo Milo. Check out this beautiful collection of his photos from the wedding shared here on the Airlie Gardens blog. Just breathtaking!

To Jessi and Sam, thank you so much for inviting us to film this most special day. We wish you a lifetime of marital bliss! Cheers to you both!

Sana & Zach : Watermark Marina

Happy Monday! We are quite thrilled about the weddings we’ve been invited to capture this year so far, and are excited to share our latest with you today.

Sana and Zach were such a fun couple to film! One of our all time favorites. They are so full of life and have this special way about them that makes anyone they come in contact with feel like a close friend. We had a blast getting to know them and experiencing their connection with one another. Their officiant, Han Hills, explained it best when he said that it is a natural love they share, one made all the more beautiful because they compliment each other so well. This couple truly has it all…a great sense of humor, strong connections to their families, awesome friends, and a passion and endearment for each other that fills the room with energy. They even own a photography business together, which made the experience of filming them even more meaningful to us. Exploring a shared passion with the one you love is something very close to our own hearts!

Throughout the day, we captured so many amazing moments, from the romantic first look against the backdrop of a dramatic sky, to the intimate words spoken during the ceremony, to the spontaneous dancing at the reception…the party was so entertaining we couldn’t put down our cameras for a second! There was always something crazy or fun someone was doing! But one of the most inspiring moments we’ve ever captured at a wedding came during the toast given by Sana’s father. During his speech, he included a slideshow with photos and memories from Sana’s childhood growing up in Russia, and told the story of a famous Russian artist who painted couples flying together in the sky. He then presented Sana and Zach with a painting of them in the same style. He couldn’t have chosen a better way to commemorate Sana and Zach’s love story!

Sana and Zach, we can’t say enough about how honored we were to be a part of this EPIC day! Thank you again and again for allowing us the opportunity to share in this special moment of your life. We wish you a wonderful marriage and a lifetime of happiness!

Hannah & Grant : Clinton, NC

We were overjoyed to be a part of Hannah and Grant’s wedding in Clinton, North Carolina earlier this spring, and are excited to share their film today!

It was a blessing to film a wedding day for such a charming couple and their wonderful families. Hannah and Grant were married at the First United Methodist Church in Clinton. It was our first time filming there, but everyone was so friendly and made us feel welcome right away.

Hannah’s father is the music director for the church and did a wonderful job organizing the choir program for the ceremony. Grant’s father is also a music director for a nearby church, so music played a very special role in their day! We love the emotion that overcame everyone as the choir sang, especially when Hannah’s father walked her down the aisle. The glorious music, along with the pastor’s beautiful message about love, made for one very memorable ceremony!

As the day continued, we couldn’t help but notice all the sweet glances this couple gave each other, whether they were together or across the room from one another! It’s easy to see how much in love they are and how happy they will be as they continue their journey together. Hannah and Grant, thank you both so much for giving us this special honor of filming your magnificent day!

Whitney & Ben : Wrightsville Beach, NC

We are excited to share our first wedding of 2015! Whitney and Ben’s January wedding was so much fun to be a part of! Blessed with perfect winter weather and the sweetest group of family and friends, they exchanged their vows in an intimate ceremony on the gorgeous Wrightsville Beach Intracoastal Waterway.

From the moment we met Whitney and Ben, we looked forward to filming their wedding. Their friendliness, bright personalities and faith are inspiring, and we had a wonderful time capturing their beautiful love. The day was filled with so many unique moments, one of our favorite being when their dog, Halli, rest her head on the pastor’s foot in the middle of the ceremony! So cute!

We also had the pleasure of meeting and working with Ethan Hanson, a very talented guitarist and songwriter who has opened for the Marshall Tucker Band in the past. His music rocked Whitney and Ben’s reception and got everyone on the floor to dance the night away!

To Whitney and Ben, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day! We wish nothing but the best for you both as you continue your journey together.
