Collynn & Josh : Clinton, NC

We’ve gone way too long without sharing any films! Today we wanted to share with you one of the sweetest and most charming couples we have ever worked with… meet Collynn and Josh! Their wedding weekend was nothing short of perfect. There was so much love and warmth in each moment, and we adored our time getting to know them and their precious families.

To kick off the celebration, Josh’s family hosted a beautiful rehearsal dinner party at Collynn’s family home in Clinton, North Carolina. Guests gathered for a lovely dinner, heartwarming speeches, the most amazing hound dog groom’s cake, lots of fun dancing, and great music by the Martin Davis Band. It was awesome to see everyone come together to share in all the excitement with Collynn and Josh for their big day ahead!

From the beginning of the day filming their preparations, to the end of the night when they rode off to start their new lives together, Collynn and Josh’s deep commitment to their families, faith and each other was apparent. Collynn and her sister missed their grandfather deeply throughout the day, but kept his memory and all of the special times they shared together close to their hearts. Children also played an important role in Collynn and Josh’s day. Collynn works as a teacher at a preschool she runs with her mom, and had a special relationship with the flower girl and ring bearer, whom she has known and taught their entire lives. Josh’s identical twin brother, Jordan also had an important role delivering Collynn and Josh’s gifts and letters to one another. Josh’s gift to Collynn included a beautiful cross necklace engraved with their wedding date and a family heirloom from his grandmother, which Collynn lovingly attached to her bouquet. Collynn’s gift for Josh was a watercolor painting of his family’s property, which impressed not only him but all the groomsmen. Rowan Baptist, where the ceremony took place, was also the same church where Collynn’s parents were married, so every detail was connected to the couple’s rich family heritage!

The ceremony was one of the most special we have ever witnessed. Every moment was orchestrated around the unique celebration of Collynn and Josh with the most important people beside them. The pastor was even a graduate of Collynn’s family preschool! His message, about the importance of growing together as a couple, was wise beyond his years and a sound reminder of what is truly important in a marriage. Close friends shared bible readings, prayers and songs as Collynn and Josh made their commitments to one another. After their kiss, the couple joined the bridal party aboard a classic trolley headed for the reception back at Collynn’s family home!

The evening was complete with elegant decor, fine dining, and an electrifying musical performance by the Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band. Dancing under a sky full of stars, this night couldn’t have been any more romantic! Good times were had by all and at the end, Collynn and Josh rode away on antique Buick road car in absolute style!

Collynn and Josh, we were honored to have had this opportunity to capture your spectacular wedding weekend! We pray that each time you watch your film, it will bring you back to this time in your lives and remind you of all the feelings and memories you shared together. We wish you the best life and a marriage legacy that will be passed down for many generations to come. God Bless!

Molly & John : Raleigh, NC

Happy New Year everyone!! Throughout 2016, we’ve had the pleasure of working with some truly incredible couples from all over North Carolina! First up: Molly and John in Raleigh!

Where do we even start with how awesome Molly and John are?! These two are college sweethearts who vowed to grow old together. There’s nothing sweeter. They are both also very warm and caring individuals, and together make one of the most solid, yet fun-loving and adorably in love couples we have ever been around. They are just the kind of people who we love to create wedding films for – truly why we love what we do!

Molly and John live in Washington DC, but gathered all their friends and family together in Raleigh, Molly’s hometown, for their marriage celebration. The rehearsal dinner was hosted at the City Club downtown. Guests enjoyed dinner, drinks, toasts, and some spectacular views of the city from the 28th floor. Our favorite part was meeting Molly and John’s families, who instantly welcomed us. Everyone was so kind and hospitable, and said the sweetest things during the toasts. We especially enjoyed meeting Molly’s identical twin sister, Kristina. This was our first time filming a wedding where the bride is a twin, so the experience of capturing their close relationship as sisters was really special for us!

On the wedding day, we first met up with John and the groomsmen for their luncheon at The Raleigh Times. This unique bar is the former home of the city’s newspaper, and old press clippings and cultural artwork cover the walls. It was a really cool space to film John and his friends relaxing and hanging out before all the events of the day began. These guys have been friends since elementary school, even though they have all chosen very different paths in life – a testament to the level of commitment and loyalty that John brings to his relationship with Molly. Next it was off to the Merrimon-Wynne House to meet with Molly and the bridesmaids. This was our first time filming at this charming historic estate, and we were blown away at how beautiful everything is and how perfect it was not only for Molly’s preparations, but also for the reception in the carriage house later that night. Filming Molly with her bridesmaids, we could really see how much everyone cherishes their relationship with her. During their toasts, Molly’s sister and brother described her as a generous, thoughtful and passionate person, and we saw many examples of this throughout the day. Before the ceremony began at Peace University Chapel, Molly and John exchanged gifts and letters behind a door so they would not see each other. Only moments away from saying their vows, their excitement and anticipation just filled the room!

The ceremony was led by Molly’s childhood pastor, a friendly and cheerful man with a profound marriage message. He spoke about the values that centenarians still happily married have upheld in their marriage, and then readers shared bible verses chosen by Molly and John’s grandparents as a blessing for the couple. The presence of the grandparents was one of the most touching parts of the day. Molly and John not only adore them, but have a deep sense of admiration for them. During her toast at the rehearsal dinner, Molly mentioned that their parents were celebrating 30+ years of marriage, and their grandparents were celebrating 60+ years. The legacy of faith, commitment and eternal love that they have begun is such a strong foundation for Molly and John to build their marriage upon!

After the ceremony, guests returned to the Merrimon-Wynne House to enjoy cocktails and music by the talented jazz quartet Table 5. When it was time for the reception to begin, everyone gathered in the elegant carriage house just across the lawn. Molly and John made their grand entrance and immediately kicked off the epic dance party that would unfold long into the night. John and his mom swing danced to “Blue Suede Shoes” and Molly and her dad danced to a live violin performance of “Tale As Old As Time”. And then, as if the day couldn’t get any better – Molly and John had their first dance – at first they slow-danced to a sweet acoustic cover of Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back”, but then broke out into a hilarious routine for the original version of the song. Molly is by far one of the best dancers we have filmed, and her and John’s natural ability to just let loose and be silly with one another was enchanting to film. Their energy was contagious and made for a very fun and entertaining night of dancing and memories being made every which way we looked!

We are so happy to have shared the day with some of Raleigh’s finest, including the talented team at Sally Oakley Weddings & Events, Carolyn and Geoff of Carolyn Scott Photography and DJ Randy from Bunn DJ Company!

Molly and John, we had a blast getting to know you two and your wonderful families. Thank you for the opportunity to capture the story of your wedding! You two are a match made in heaven and we wish you a thousand more years of happiness together. May you continue your families’ legacy of vast and everlasting marital bliss!

Cherilyn & Rick : Brooklyn Arts Center

The wedding day of Cherilyn and Rick just made our hearts happy! These two are so sweet, so fun, and so perfect for one another. From the first time Cherilyn reached out to us to share the details of their story, we knew we would be working with a couple who cherishes every moment they get to spend together as a precious gift.

We truly enjoyed learning about their love and seeing it unfold on their special day. They met in Wilmington and Cherilyn has been by Rick’s side as he served our country in the Marine Corps. They endured long distances and tough times to make it to their wedding day, building their relationship on patience, communication, and friendship. With such a strong foundation in place, their day was sure to be one filled with excitement, emotion and beauty.

The wedding was held at the spectacular Brooklyn Arts Center in downtown Wilmington. Besides being one of our favorite places to film at, this gorgeous historic venue was the perfect setting for Cherilyn and Rick’s grand event. The day began with getting ready and reading the letters they wrote for each other, followed by their first look in the courtyard garden. Both Cherilyn and Rick could not contain the overwhelming joy they felt when they saw each other, and there was plenty of laughter and tears as they realized the day they had been waiting for so long was finally here!

Loved ones then gathered inside the sanctuary for the ceremony, overjoyed to see Cherilyn and Rick come together as one. Cherilyn was absolutely stunning walking down the aisle in her lovely dress, and Rick looked very sharp in his Marine uniform, which the best man later declared in his toast as the most “badass uniform in the armed forces”! The pastor’s sermon included engaging stories and meaningful messages about married life, and the love between Cherilyn and Rick filled the room as they read their handwritten vows to one another. And when they kissed, you could just tell how much they were both taking in the moment as the beginning of the wonderful legacy they will be building together.

The bridal party was whisked away on a trolley ride to Greenfield Lake for pictures, and the cocktail hour was held in the courtyard as the sanctuary was prepared for the reception. It began to rain a bit, but everyone was so excited for the party that they hardly even noticed. And what a party it was! Cherilyn and Rick shared a dreamy and romantic first dance, and the parent dances that followed were some of the sweetest we have ever seen! Cherilyn and her dad wowed guests with their fun dance moves and Rick and his mom sang along happily to their song. During the toasts, we could sense the undeniable bond between these two families. They embraced not only the newlyweds, but each other as well, and were all so excited to be together to share in Cherilyn and Rick’s big day. After the dances and toasts, The Band Punch, out of Raleigh, rocked the house with a stylish performance that got everyone on the floor (and stage!) to dance and celebrate with Cherilyn and Rick until the end of the night!

Many thanks to Rich and his team at Brooklyn Arts Center for introducing us to this lovely couple, and also to the talents of Dockside Strings, Treasured Moments Photography, Orchid Island Events, and Beautiful Flowers by June for making this day extra special.

Cherilyn and Rick, it was such a pleasure getting to know you both! Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture the story of your incredible wedding day. We know your relationship will be forever strong, fun, passionate and beautiful, and we wish you a life full of love and many more adventures together!

Meagan & Artan : Airlie Gardens

Today it is our pleasure to release Meagan + Artan’s wedding film into the wild. These two lit up the sky! Literally. The whole week before, the weather predictions were for a 100% chance of rain. But the morning of the wedding, the skies opened up and revealed a bright, shining sun that can only be explained by the brilliant love between these two beautiful people.

Meagan and Artan, from opposite sides of the world, met at Barton College in Wilson, NC, fell crazy in love, crossed a million oceans with one another, and then came back to get hitched at the magical Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC. The day began with Meagan and Artan getting ready at a couple of beach houses with gorgeous views and all their friends gathered around. The ceremony followed at the Pergola Garden inside Airlie. But before that, Meagan and Artan had their first look by the fountain, surrounded by the lush greenery of the early summer. When Meagan approached Artan, it was as if the sun burned a little brighter and they stepped into their own secret garden. Even the resident swans showed up to bid the couple congratulations! And at the ceremony, Meagan and Artan exchanged the most emotion-filled vows that embodied the playful, yet intense passion they have for one another.

Post-ceremony, the guests enjoyed some cocktails on the Airlie Oak lawn, while the bridal party explored the gardens during their photo shoot with Nik Morina. We had an awesome time working with this Philadelphia-based photographer, who like Artan, is originally from Kosovo. Not only did he have many creative ideas for shots, but he also shared a special connection to the couple and really brought out their personalities throughout the day.

After the photo shoot, Meagan and Artan stole away for a sweet bit of alone time with the sunset, and before you knew it, they were back in the middle of what quickly turned into a crazy party full of laughter, traditional dances and music from Kosovo, and an energy that kept everyone on the dance floor to celebrate this couple all night long! It was a blast from beginning to end, and we’re so grateful to have been a part of it!

Many thanks to all the other incredible creatives we joined for this wedding: Knot Too Shabby Events, One Belle Bakery, Culinary Creations, Party Suppliers & Rentals, and High Performance Lighting & Power.

Cheers to Meagan and Artan for a lifetime of happiness! Stay wild, you two.

Rachel & RJ : Union Station

So excited to share this incredibly JOYFUL wedding with you today! Rachel and RJ are two of the most fun people we have ever met and had the pleasure of working with! Deeply rooted in each other, their families, and their faith, this couple’s love and joy for life absolutely shined through on their wedding day.

The wedding took place at Union Station in the heart of downtown Wilmington. With its tall ceilings, grand windows and picturesque views of the Cape Fear River, it was the perfect venue for Rachel and RJ’s classy, upbeat celebration. The ceremony was led by Pastor Barrington Johnson out of Charlotte, NC. His powerful message about marriage and family resonated with everyone present, and we loved how Rachel and RJ exemplified these values in their personal vows to one another. It was an inspiring ceremony to witness and be a part of!

Then to kick the reception into high gear, Rachel and 2 of her girlfriends surprised everyone with a coordinated performance of Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”, complete with a fabulous gold tassel dress and sequin dance costumes! What followed was a night filled with high energy, laughter and spontaneity! During the toasts and dances, we could really see how closely knit Rachel and RJ’s families are and how much fun they always have together. DJ Nigel Harris, who Rachel has known since she was very young, took the party up another notch with live turntable mixing and beats that kept everyone out on the dance floor all night long. It was truly an unforgettable affair and we had an absolute blast filming it all!

Rachel and RJ, congratulations to you both and thank you so much for letting us capture your incredible day. We wish you a lifetime full of continued happiness, cherished memories and marital bliss!

Jordan & Ralph : Atlantic Beach, NC

Meet Jordan and Ralph! These two have a crazy-romantic bliss about them that’s an absolute treat to be around. From our first time talking to them on the phone, we got a sense of their fun-loving spirits and just knew that their day would be a cinematic dream come true!

Jordan is originally from Morehead City, North Carolina and followed a job out to California, but what she found there was even better… Ralph, the love of her life! The two brought their California-meets-Carolina love story together at The Dunes Club in breathtaking Atlantic Beach, which neighbors Jordan’s hometown on the North Carolina coast, a place that is precious to her and full of family meaning and memories. From a pool party in the morning to dancing at midnight, Jordan and Ralph stamped this magnificent shindig with their own enthusiastic energy and original style. Friends and family from all over came to celebrate, and even Ralph’s parents, who couldn’t be there physically, were able to watch all the fun via FaceTime live-streaming. The love and connections shared by everyone just overflowed and made this occasion something incredibly emotional and heartwarming to capture!

And the party? Well, it was pretty much wedding film gold. Ralph is part of VOX DJs of Manhattan Beach, California and it was so awesome that his partners, MC KC Campbell and Rob (aka DJ Solution) came out to be a part of the celebration. They got the party started with an upbeat, intricately planned bridal party grand entrance before Spare Change took the stage to play an epic show! Along with the band’s mind-blowing performance, dazzling stage lights and glowsticks-a-plenty, everyone packed the dance floor and partied like legends. And the party didn’t stop. Seriously. After Spare Change played their last song, DJ Solution returned for a late night session. Have you ever been at a party where EVERYONE danced ALL night long? Well this was it. Magical.

Jordan and Ralph, your love is a dream and we are so grateful to have witnessed it. We’ve never seen a couple so excited to get married and we had a blast meeting and filming you two. We wish you many new adventures, from this coast to the next. May your love continue to be an inspiration to everyone you meet along the way!

Julia & Brandon : Wake Forest, NC

Happy 2016! We figured we’d start our year by sharing one of our best wedding films from 2015, and another one of favorites! Some weddings you just stand back and watch everyone drinking in how intoxicatingly wonderful true love is… this was definitely one of those weddings.

Julia and Brandon were married at The Sutherland, a breathtaking eighteenth century estate located in the historic town of Wake Forest, North Carolina. The property boasts the most beautiful trees and gardens, a grand mansion used as a bridal suite, a charming cottage for the groom’s party, and a stunning pavilion with an epic ceiling. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect location for Julia and Brandon’s spectacular day!

In our first moments filming them opening their gifts from one another, we could tell that Julia and Brandon have just about the deepest love a couple can have. They adore each other and it definitely shows. To see not only their love, but the love that their family and friends have for them, was remarkable. Julia’s bond with her father and brother brought tears to our eyes. Theirs is a family deeply connected to their faith and truly savoring each moment they get to spend with one another.

Throughout the day there were so many unforgettable moments that we captured, from Julia and her bridesmaids watching the rain from the balcony, to Julia’s first look with her dad and brother, to Brandon’s reaction to seeing Julia for the first time down the aisle in her gorgeous 12-layer gown, to the enchanting first dances, to the touching speeches given by Julia’s father, brother and best friend. Then this happened… Julia’s dad got out his electric guitar and accompanied by a harmonica player and Julia’s brother singing along, the three performed a hilarious rendition of “The House Is Rockin”. Such an awesome surprise for Julia and Brandon’s special day! And after an incredible evening with everyone they love gathered ‘round and heartfelt moments rolling out every-which-way, Julia and Brandon stole away under a magnificent lit up oak tree to drink it all in. Then they ran through a path of sparklers to their getaway car – a perfect finish to a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Julia and Brandon, you two are just as beautiful as your wedding day. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to capture these amazing memories on your most intimate of days. We feel blessed to have been a part of it all, and wish you a lifetime of happiness and everlasting love!

Sarah & Grey : The Surf Club

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! 2015 was filled with fantastic weddings and we just wanna say a huge thank you to all of the beautiful people we’ve met and had the honor of working with this year (and every other year). Today we are excited to shared with you one of our favorite weddings of 2015!

Sarah and Grey were married at Wrightsville Beach’s Surf Club, in the middle of a tropical storm… Hurricane Joaquin, to be exact. But rain’s no thing to people in love. In fact, no one seemed to care about or even take notice of all the wind and rain. Everyone was too busy being swept away by the love between Sarah and Grey! These two absolutely RULED at getting married.

Throughout the day, there were so many moments of pure emotion. When Sarah and Grey read the letters they wrote for one another, we could see just how deep their relationship was and how excited they were to get married. As the ceremony approached, friends and family gathered under the Surf Club’s covered pavilion to cheer Sarah and Grey on as Hurricane Joaquin rained its’ heart out. Grey’s reaction to seeing Sarah walk down the aisle is one of the most emotional moments we’ve ever captured at a wedding. It was as if his heart was ready to explode and during the vows, everyone could feel the power of their love.

And after a wild, stormy ceremony, what’s the first thing everyone did when they went inside? Throw one of the craziest parties ever, complete with an excellent acoustic set by guitarist Jacob Stockton, a classy bar, masked photobooth fun, and the coolest group of family and friends dancing long into the night. Truly a day that no one will ever forget!

Many thanks to Kalyn at Arabella Events for introducing us to this beautiful couple! We got a chance to work with Kalyn last year at another awesome wedding, and she always makes sure every detail is perfect and the party is super fun!

Sarah and Grey, we are so grateful that we got a chance to meet and get to know you both. Your family and friends said it best- you two are so genuine and have the biggest and sweetest hearts. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your amazing day! We wish you many more adventures and years of happiness together!

Alysondria & James : Swansboro, NC

Get ready for a Monday morning heart-melt! Alysondria and James were simply the most romantic couple to film. All day long, they were glowing like they had just met. They also happen to be two incredibly kind-hearted people with amazing families, and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of their celebration!

From an emotional letter and gift exchange, to a first look bathed in brilliant sunlight, the beginning of the day was already filled with tons of romance. The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mildred Catholic Church in the lovely seaside town of Swansboro, North Carolina. Friends and family gathered to watch Alysondria and James exchange their vows, and then headed over to the reception at Marston Pavilion inside Camp Lejeune. We were blown away by the gorgeous landscapes surrounding both venues, but our favorite was a secret boardwalk Alysondria and James had scouted with their photographers prior to the big day. Long and narrow, the boardwalk seemed to stretch out into eternity over the water, making for some very dreamy moments between the happy couple, which we are so glad to have been there to capture!

At the reception, we quickly saw how deeply adored this couple is by all their family and friends, who showered them with smiles, laughter, warm hugs, and sweet toasts. We also had a blast filming all the dazzling dance moves throughout the night, especially James’ stylish shag dancing and Alysondria’s graceful twirls in her beautiful, flowing gown. So impressive! After the epic dance party, Alysondria and James exited through a sea of glow sticks to their getaway boat. What a night to remember!

Alysondria and James, thank you so much for the opportunity to film your special day! You are an amazing couple and we wish you a full and happy life together! Congratulations!

Meredith & Ryan : Uptown Charlotte, NC

Starting our week by sharing one of our latest wedding films! This one is extra special to us, because it is the first wedding we filmed in the lovely city of Charlotte, and also because Meredith and Ryan are that couple who you just love to be around! We had such an amazing time getting to know these two and witnessing, first hand, their very deep and meaningful love for one another. We knew that their wedding would be something incredibly special to capture!

The weekend started at Draught, one of Meredith and Ryan’s favorite hangout spots in Uptown Charlotte. Family and friends gathered to share sweet and entertaining stories and celebrate the evening together before the big day. We were particularly touched by the story of how this adorable couple met. Hearing it from the perspective of Meredith and Ryan’s best friends, their meeting was unexpected, yet occurred at the most perfect time in their lives!

The ceremony was held at Caldwell Presbyterian Church and was led by Meredith’s stepfather. We just loved his message about the meaning of marriage and family, and how Meredith and Ryan share a love that extends well beyond their relationship to bless their families and everyone they know!

The reception followed at the Mint Museum, surrounded by the glow of Uptown Charlotte’s spectacular skyscrapers. Meredith and Ryan introduced the evening with their stunning first dance, filling the room with an energy that lasted all night long. One of our favorite moments was when Meredith’s cheerleading partners from college tossed her in the air (designer gown and all)! Afterwards, Ryan and his groomsmen tried matching them with their own stunt, and while they could not quite pull off the grace and finesse of Meredith’s performance, it sure made for some hilarious memories!

It was also a pleasure meeting and working alongside an outstanding team of Charlotte wedding vendors. Many thanks to Julie at Old South Studios, Maura at Draught Charlotte, Ann at Caldwell Presbyterian, Chelsey at the Mint Museum, and R & R Pedicab Company for putting together such a fine event for this stunning couple!

Meredith and Ryan, thank you for the wonderful privilege of filming your beautiful day. May you enjoy countless years of everlasting love that continues to grow deeper every day! Congratulations!
